Chris Van Hollen, a long time supporter of issues in our community is
running for US Senate in Maryland. Chris’ wife, Katherine, grew up in the
St. George Greek Orthodox Church community in Piscataway N.J., her
mother Malvina Moskios Wilkens is from Argostoli, Kefalonia. Together,
Chris and Katherine, have been active in Greek and Cypriot issues since
they were young staffers on Capitol Hill.
Over the last decade Chris has built a strong reputation in the US
Congress as a smart, courageous, and effective legislator. He has been
an outspoken leader on key national issues and is widely respected. He
is a rare politician that is able to stick to his strong Democratic principles,
but also reach across the isle to get things done. He is the kind of
person that we need in the US Senate!
